CHILEAN BICENTENNIAL OPEN
COMMENT FROM JM DE ANZIZU

Over forty players from Chile, Argentina, Catalonia, Ecuador and United States participated in this two day Bicentennial Chilean Open organised, under the FIPPA rules, at the Pitch and Putt course of Colegio Medico, part of a beautiful and large sports and social compound situated in the outskirts of Santiago.

The members of the Chilean Pitch and Putt Federation made a big and collaborative effort to welcome the foreign participants and look after all details of the event.

On Thursday, an opening ceremony was held in the premises of Club Medico. It is relevant to mention the homage made to the founder and first president of the FCHPP Dr Fernando Morgado who has recuperated from the serious sickness that started one year ago. There were speeches from the current president of FCHPP Mr. Patricio Rubel, Mr Jose M de Anzizu on behalf of Mr Frank Smith, the current FIPPA President and Mr Francesc Sole, Seniors Delegate of the FCPP who read some words of welcome from the President of FCPP.

The demanding nine holes course, with a number of bunkers, two water hazards and several elevated and difficult greens, was in excellent condition and the weather was sunny and mild.
