Course of the Month

August 2019

Carantec, France France

Carantec Pitch and Putt course is located just two minutes from downtown Carantec. The course overlooks the Bay of Morlaix with its remarkable panorama, punctuated by a multitude of islands and islets. This Pitch and Putt creation is built with tees and greens made entirely of latest generation synthetic materials (like the greens at Quiberon, host of the 2019 Brittany Open). This doesn't detract from the enjoyment as the materials play like real grass.

Carantec is a seaside course adjoining the beach of Clouët. It's a hilly, wooded site with water hazards

Protected from the prevailing winds by wooded hillsides, the complex features a practice ground with 20 bays including six covered, an approach practice area and putting green. All of the holes on the course are named after local islands. A lone tree guards the left side of the green on hole No. 6, which is named Ile Ricard and is one of the toughest on the layout at 70 metres. The longest hole at Carantec is the 90 metre third (called Ile Callot) where trees come into play down the right side. The nine hole course measures 589 metres in total.

Located in an exceptional environment, on a hilly terrain, Carantec Pitch and Putt is aesthetic and fun. It's likely to be suitable for beginners, but also very attractive for experienced players. Each hole offers a task with unique difficulties that will test all the tee shots and chip shots of the game (grass banks, sand bunkers, which come into play on holes 1, 2, 5, 7 and 8, grass bunkers, rocks ...) and putting.
