Catalan International Pairs 2016

Thomas Hanley and Kieran Earls win at Sant Cebria..

Tom Hanley and Kieran Earls (Ireland) scored 24 under par 138 to win at Sant Cebria. The Co. Limerick pair recorded 46 in the Sunday fourball to win by three from fellow Irish pair Stephen Murray and Paul McGreal.  Murray (the 2010 Irish Open runner-up) and McGreal scored 45 on Sunday for their 141 aggregate. Murray & McGreal had closed to within a shot after 12 holes of the final round but three birdies in the last six sealed the win for Hanley & Earls.  Carlos Perez & Sergi Andres (Catalonia) were third on 143, just one ahead of another Catalan team - Josep Antoni Balart and Josep Igleisas. The latter pair edged out 2014 winners Liam O'Donovan & Pacelli Darcy (Ireland) on the final 18.  Leaderboard attached.

On Saturday, Tom Hanley (Bruff) and Kieran Earls from Parteen fired a fantastic greensome score of 42.  The Limerick lads added a 50 for the foursomes.  That left Hanley and Earls on 16 under par 92 overnight and four strokes clear of the Dublin pairing Stephen Murray and Paul McGreal, both from the Old County club.  Murray and McGreal scored 47 in greensomes and 49 for their 96 total.  There were three pairs on 97 - Anto Kavanagh & William Sheridan (Ireland), Carlos Perez & Sergi Andres (Catalonia) along with former winners Liam O'Donovan & Pacelli Darcy (Ireland).  Full scoreboard and Sunday teetimes are attached.

The venue for the Catalan International Invitational Open Pairs on November 5-6, 2016 is Sant Cebria.  Tee times have been revised.  See below.
