Fernando Morgado Trophy - South America Team

Pablo Caviedes will captain Team South America

Pablo Caviedes (Chile) will captain the South American team in the Fernando Morgado Trophy. Pablo represented Chile at the 2012 and 2016 World Cups and contested the II World Strokeplay championship in 2013 at Tambre. Pablo is a member of Colegio di Medico, the club founded by the late Dr. Fernando Morgado. Adauto Rodrigues Moraes (Brazil) will also participate. An architect, Adauto is currently constructing a Pitch and Putt course in Brazil and is anxious to engage in discussion with FIPPA regarding the foundation of a Pitch and Putt association in Brazil.

Gonzalo Martinez de Giorgio (Argentina) has been named on the South American team. Gonzalo joins fellow Argentinian Oscar Caserta. Oscar represented Argentina in the 2017 Chile v. Argentina match and produced one of Argentina's leading scores in the Buenos Aires leg.

They will be joined by 21 year old Chilean Joaquin Cataldo, who played in the 2016 World Cup in Andorra and Eliseo Gracia, who was one of Chile's best scorers in the 2017 Chile v. Argentina match.

Chilean Strokeplay champion Cristobal Andrade and Gustavo Cortèz, the Federation Cup winner, were automatically selected as Chilean representatives on the South American team for Puerto Velero.

Four Chilean representatives were chosen through qualification tournaments on January 6th and January 20th at Aconcagua.  The four best Gross Scores were: Alejandro Huerta (104), Guillermo Ramirez (106), Claudio Ogaz (109) and Alejandro Moraga (109). This quartet have also made the South American team.
