Catalan Open

Postponed due to COVID-19

Important message from the Organising Committee - Suspension of the Pitch and Putt 2020 Open Catalonia

"Motivated by the health alert situation that has led to the expansion of  COVID-19, we are forced to suspend the Catalan FIPPA Open 2020

To date, all the sports facilities in our territory, including the pitch and putt courses, are closed in governing order and the citizens must stay home with restrictions on movement in the public space. Our international borders are also closed.

It is unknown at this time whether we can do the Open Catalonia in a new date in 2020 or if we will have to wait until 2021. What we are sure of is that we will do it at a time when it is completely safe for the health of all the players."

The XIV Catalan Open was due to be played at the Loret course in Lloret de Mar on April 18/19th, 2020. Details are attached below.

The Lloret course has twice hosted the European Pitch and Putt team championships. It was the venue for the 2012 Catalan Open, which was won by Marçal Moré.

Attached is the full list of entries list. 93 international players have entered for the Catalan FIPPA Open 2020.
The Open Committee has reduced the number of Catalan players (FCPP) from 55 to 51.
The Open Committee has invited Ian Farrelly to the Open in recognition of his sporting merits.
The players on the waiting list will get a place if there are withdrawals from the international players before 2nd April, just before the start of the qualifying competition for Catalan players. The Open Committee will inform players if there are vacancies as soon as it is known.
Domestic associations are reminded to send information regarding the preferred starting time and Polo Shirt size from all players.
