Brdo, Slovenia
The Slovenian resort of Brdo lies approximately 60 kilometres from the Austrian border. Ljubljana, Slovenia's capital and largest city, is about 35 kilometres to the south of Brdo. The resort boasts a popular hotel and conference centre.
Brdo features a very interesting 9 hole Pitch and Putt course within the lush surroundings of the Brdo estate. A stream fronts the green at the 55 metre opener. Sand awaits behind the green. Water lurks again at the 74 metre second hole, with the green perched on the stream's bank. At just 43 metres, the 3rd is short, but not easy. Dense rough will trap any slight mishit. The 70 metre teeshot on the 4th must carry another stream. Water short of and Out of Bounds behind the triangular green are the principal hazards on the tree-lined Index One 5th hole, which measures 83 metres from the EPPA tee. Be wary of Out of Bounds to the left and a small pond on the right of the 6th - the longest hole on the course - at 88 metres. The 7th plays 61 metres to a tiny kidney shaped green, protected front and left by sand. A severely undulating green is the target on the 83 metre 8th. The fairway and large narrow green on the 68 metres closing hole are protected by trees and the road behind.
Guests at the Brdo Hotel will enjoy a special discount on several activities, including Pitch and Putt.
Brdo will play host to the inaugural Slovenia Open in September 2017.
