June 2012
Molenhoek, Netherlands
This month's featured course is the 2012 Dutch Open venue, Molenhoek. Coming from the A73 or from Malden Molenhoek take the first exit, Ringbaan. Coming by train? Then it's 10 to 15 minutes walk from station Mook-Molenhoek. In the area locally known as "The Pit" lies one of NPPB's newest courses. Pitch and Putt Molenhoek is located behind the tennis and squash center in Molenhoek.
There are many interesting holes at Molenhoek.
The 1st at 50 metres is a relatively easy opener - Index 18. On the 45 metre 3rd, rated Index 5, it's essential to play to the right of the flag. Too far left is heavily punished! The beautiful 4th measures 59 metres downhill. It's Index 10 and the pitch needs to carry tall trees to reach the green. Hole 14 plays just 43 metres over the pit but it is Index 12. Statistically the toughest hole is the Index 1 18th. Measuring 57 metres, this assignment calls for a pitch to avoid trees on the right and heavy bunkering around the green.
