Ourense, Galicia Galicia

At Camiño do Dentragon, 32005 Ourense, lies one of Galicia's top 18-hole Pitch and Putt courses, which boasts a practice green and swing training area.
 
The course is located just five minutes by car from the city of Ourense, a provincial capital with a population of just over 100,000, in north-western Spain.
 
The Ourense layout was designed with emphasis on Irish courses.
 
The first 9 holes, (blue flags), are mostly located in the lower area of the original farmland. Holes 2 and 4 stand out as these are the longest on the course, measuring 80 and 84 metres respectively. The Index 5 2nd hole while the 4th which is rated as Index 4.
 
Holes 10 to 18 are marked with yellow flags, The most technical holes of the course are located on this nine, notably the 11th and 12th. which in addition to the difficulty of holding the green, nearby trees come into play. The 46 metre 13th plays downhill. Grouped close together, the player encounters the Index 1 hole  (the 15th, which stretches to 67 metres uphill) and the tiny 16th, at 29 metres, which is statistically the easiest hole on the course. Victor Rodriguez holds the course record with a nine under par 45.
 
The team that developed Ourense also sought inspiration in the experience of design and construction of other Pitch and Putt courses, which have been developed in Galicia over the past two decades. Facilities such as Pazo da Touza (San Amaro), Barbanza (Boiro), Tambre (Sigïueiro) and Verin P&P, were studied in detail.
 
The metropolitan area of Ourense, in all, has a catchment area of 150,000 people and the Ourense Pitch and Putt course is expected to attract a huge amount of local interest. International visitors also arrive to play in the annual International Pairs tournament.
