Course of the Month

November 2017

Tysnes, Norway Norway

Tysnes is a municipality of some 3,000 people, which lies on an island on the west coast of Norway. Most visitors will require a ferry to get to Tysnes although the main island is connected to the mainland by a bridge across Lukksund.

Tysnes Pitch and Putt is affiliated to the Norges Pitch and Putt Forbund (NPPF). The course at Uggdalseidet, Hordaland is just eleven minutes drive from the ferry at Våge, which links to Halhjem and on to Bergen.

Index 18 hole at Tysnes is the flat 29 metre second hole, just in front of the clubhouse.  The 90 metre 4th plays over water to a flat green guarded by two front bunkers. There's a stream to be carried on the 58 metre 9th hole. A lone bunker guards the right edge of the green.

A river lurks on the left of the 78 metre 13th, which is considered the most diffcult hole on the course. That same river lies to the right of the 14th green and behind the green of the 57 metre 15th. The short 18th plays 38 metres across the entrance road.
