Catalan Open 2024

Win for Ireland's Ian Dillon

The 2024 Catalan Open was played at the Costa Daurada course in Tarragona from 5th/7th April. Scores here

Ian Dillon (Ireland) fired a 49 on Sunday to win with a 54 hole aggregate of 12 under par 150. Dillon was a two stroke winner over Alex Albinyana (Catalonia) who scored a sensational linal round 47. Overnight leader Carlos Lorenzana (Catalonia ) filled third place after closing with a 53. 2004 World Cup winner with Catalonia David Sole scored 153 for fourth position with former champion Tommy Hanley fifth.

A brilliant Sunday 51 by Esther de Schiffart (Netherlands) saw her win the Ladies Open on 162. Esther triumphed by ten from fellow Dutch lady Kim Kujisters with Catalan Marta Fuster third on 181.

A steady par last round saw Catalan Joan Bertran claim senior laurels by two from colleague Josep Gurillo with Ireland's Derek Courtney third another brace behind in third spot.

Catalan Carlos Lorenzana continued to lead on Saturday evening but Joan Bertran (Catalonia) was joined on seven under par by Iosu Casajus (Basque) and Irish duo of Ian Dillon and Tommy Hanley. Joan Bertran led the senior from fellow Catalan Josep Gurillo and Esther de Schiffart is five ahead of Dutch colleague Kim Kujisters (Netherlands) the ladies.

Sunday tee times

Approximately a third of the field played their opening 36 holes on Friday. Carlos Lorenzana Catalonia) fired rounds of 51 and 48 for a nine under par aggregate of 99 and a two stroke early lead from fellow Catalan Joan Bertran who headed the senior classification after eighteens of 49 and 52. Dutch player Kim Kujisters scored 63+53=116 for a seven stroke advanatage in ladies.
