VI World Cup

North Portugal team announced

The VI World Cup of Pitch and Putt (and the first to be staged since 2016) will be played at the El Vendrell course, Tarragona, Catalonia from 11th/13th October 2024. The event logo is attached.

Holders Ireland, Australia, Basque Country, Andorra, Catalonia, Chile, France, Galicia, Germany, Hungary, Netherlands, North Portugal, Norway, Switzerland and Great Britain have already confirmed their intention to participate.

Australia team: James Richards, Jenny Whittaker, Dylan Lynch. Non-playing captain: Daniel Pullen.

Basque team: José Ipiña Etxaniz, Juan Medina Millan, Iosu Casajus Gorostiaga.

Chile team: Guillermo Arancibia, Gabriel Monje, Felipe Gatica. Non-playing captain: Pablo Caviedes.

France team: Xavier Garcia, Alexandre Templereau, Damien Ducept. 

Galicia team: Jorge R Sarmiento, Daniel Fuentes,  Teodoro Fernández. Non-playing captain: Juan Carlos Iglesias Surribas.

Germany team: Harry Brinkmeyer, Oliver Berckman, Bernd Groneick.

Great Britain team: John Deeble, Jordan Deeble, Phil Martin.

Ireland team: Ian Dillon, Padraic Sarsfield, Kieran Earls. Travelling reserve: Damien Fleming, Non-playing captain: Michael Vaughan

Netherlands team: Mischa Effern, Remon de Groot, Rolf Kwant.

North Portugal team: Hugo Espirito Santo, Pedro Ferreira, Tomás Ribeiro.

Norway team: Espen Bergmann, Arne Strandenes, Martin Øvestad.

Switzerland team: Janik Gattlen, Edy Planzer, Dieter Heutschi.

The World Cup was previously played in 2004, 2006, 2008, 2012 and 2016. The 2020 event did not take place due to the Covid pandemic.

The competition is for teams of three players. At the beginning of the competition, two individual rounds of strokeplay are played, which decide the seedings for team matches played in Matchplay mode.

In 2006 Catalonia already hosted the World Cup in Teià with a high level of sport and a large audience.

The Organizing Committee of the World Cup24 is already working on the preparation of the most important team competition in the world of Pitch and Putt.
