Euskadi Open
The 2024 Basque Open was played at P&P Urduña, Basque Country from 17th to 19th May.
Jorge Rodriguez Sarmiento (Galicia) scored 52 on Sunday for a five under par 54-hole total of 157. That gave Jorge a two stroke winning margin over the fast finishing Catalan Roger Albinyana who closed with a brilliant final round 49. A 51 last eighteen catapulated another Galician Hugo Espirito Santo up into third place with 160, beating Alex Albinyana (Cataloinia) and Alejandro Fernandez Blanco (Galicia) on the tiebreaker. Antoni Armengol (Andorra) was best senior (after Jorge Rodriguez Sarmiento) with 165 while leading lady was María L. Escudero Docampo (Galicia) with 181. Final leaderboard
Two Galicians toppwed the leaderbard after Saturday's play. Jorge Rodriguez Sarmiento carded a best of the day 50 in the second round for a 36-hole aggregate of 105 (-3). Jorge led by one from colleague Alejandro Fernandez Blanco. Catalan Joan Bertran was third on 107.just ahead of Alex Albinyana (Catalonia) with 108. Two Catalan players were tied for the ladies lead on 123 - Anna Selva and Dolors Sanchez. Scores below.
