Galician Invitational Pairs

In the end it was a Catalan 1-2-3 at the inaugural Galician Pairs Invitational at Boiro. Xavi Lopez and Amador Rodriguez added a fine foursomes 51 to the 50s they had carded in Saturday's Fourball and Greensome. That gave the Catalan pairing an eleven under par aggregate of 151 and they won by a single shot from compatriots FJ Ponsdemenech and Eric Puig. Ponsdemenech and Puig fired a best of the foursomes 49 to clinch runners-up slot by a stroke from another Catalan group Jordi Serra and David Riera (who were tied second overnight).

Galician pair Juan Carlos Surribas and Jorge Sarmiento led after two rounds at Boiro. Surribas and Sarmiento shot 50 in the opening fourball and then added an impressive 46 in the afternoon greensomes. The home association pair scored 58 in Sunday's final round foursomes to finish fifth on eight under par. Another Galician duo Francisco Sendon Carou and Javier Castillo were edged out of third place by David Riera and Jordi Serra on a countback.
