The 2026 Irish Open was contested over the wonderful links course at Portmarnock. Full list of winners

36 hole leader John Ross Crangle (Ireland) scored 50 on Sunday for a winning 54-hole total of 19 under par 143. That secured a one stroke victory over fellow Irishmen David Sexton (second on the final 18 tiebreaker) and Mark Millar. 

One stroke behind after 36 holes, local Portmarnock player Geraldine Ward scored 53 in the final round to overhaul overnight leader Esther de Schiffart (Netherlands) who carded 59 on Sunday. Ger's 163 three round aggregate of 163 proved five better than her impressive Dutch rival.

John Ross Crangle (Ireland) played superbly in the gusty afternoon conditions to shoot 15 under par 93 and took a two stroke lead into Sunday's final round. Crangle's nearest pursuer was Ireland's Mark Millar who scored  95 to be the leader after the morning wave on 13 under par. Miller was a stroke ahead of fellow Irishmen Bryan Delaney and Daithi Sexton with another three Irishmen Philip Sweeney, Gary Healy and Jason Larkin next on 97. Esther de Schiffart (Netherlands) led the ladies open on 109, one ahead of local legend Geraldine Ward.

Friday's Juvenile Open resulted in wins for Enda Hayden (Boys) with a fabulous 98 and Sarah Ryan (Girls).

The official opening ceremony was performed by Ireland's Minister for Transport Darragh O'Brien TD. That gathering was addressed by Portmarnock Club Chairman Larry Fitzpatrick, Alan Hanlon (Vice President FIPPA) and Anthony Malone (Vice President Pitch and Putt Ireland). See video here
