ITALIAN OPEN 2006
The fifth Italian Pitch & Putt Open was held for the second year running in the superb "Centanni" complex on the outskirts of Florence on 3-4 June 2006. Players from a dozen clubs from all over Italy attended and there were players from France and Great Britain.
Jean Claude Richard claimed his 2nd successive Italian Open with a commanding performance at the Centanni course, winning by three strokes from local players,Vanni Rastrelli and Giordano Gubernaro.
Jean Claude scored 163, aheaad of Vanni's 166 and Giordano's 179. Locals players swept the other categories, with the honours shared between players from the Real and Centanni clubs.
The Ladies division was won by Real's Enrica Antonucci with a 218 whilst World Cup player Fabrizzio Frassoldati, also of Real, took the Seniors honours with a 181.
Tommaso Bianchi of Centanni won the Junior division with a strong 180.
Centanni's Vieri Rastrelli won the Net division with a 163.
