South American Team Championship
The second round of the South American team championship was played in dry chilly conditions on 1st October in Santiago. Chile were the inaugural winners of the South American Teams championship. The Chileans scored 270 (Chilean individual champion Cristobal Andrade 52, Eliseo Gracia 53, Jaime Reyes 54, Alejandro Moraga 55, Joaquin Cataldo 56) to 327 for Argentina and 333 for Ecuador.
Players had to contend with heavy rain on Saturday in Santiago. Chile produced a team total of 276 to lead into Sunday's final round. Argentina were second with Ecuador third.

The inaugural South American Pitch and Putt team championship was played on September 30th/October 1st. The event was staged in conjunction with the second leg of the Chile v. Argentina match. Players from Chile, Argentina and Ecuador competesd in the championship at the Colegio di Medico and Aconcagua courses in Santiago, Chile.

Play was over 36 holes Strokeplay. First round was played at 14.00 on Saturday with the second round at 09.00 on Sunday. The best five scores per country counted as the team score. The winning team accepted the Founders Cup, in honour of the late Dr. Fernando Morgado, the founder of Pitch and Putt in South America.
