Course of the Month

October 2025

Ashgrove, Ireland Ireland

Founded in 1983,  Ashgrove is a hidden treasure on the Co. Waterford/Co. Kilkenny border in south east Ireland.

Located not far from the cities of Waterford (10 kilometres) and Kilkenny (50 kilometres), Ashgrove is situated near the town of Mooncoin, Co. Kilkenny on the Waterford to Limerick road (N24).

The course features mature trees, well manicured greens and a view of the Comeragh mountains.

Good farmland abounds near Ashgrove and its near neighbour, Carrigeen GAA Club.

The course is bordered by mature hedges and many new Shrubs have been planted.

A beautiful mural depiction of Pitch and Putt adjoins the Ashgrove clubhouse. Attractive white tee markers adorn this excellent layout.

Ashgrove opens with the uphill 1st, which streches to 40 metres.  The 2nd, along the left boundary hedge, is something of a left hander's nightmare! The 4th calls for a short pitch over a front grass bank while the 5th measures 42 metres. The 17th plays 36m back towards the clubhouse and is index 16

There are many other interesting holes, such as the tiny 12th at the far boundary of the course. It should yield a birdie but...! The long 15th is Index 1 while the 49 metre 18th plays to a green that slopes right to left. A big tree on right must be carried by the teeshot.
