Course of the Month

June 2026

Crayestein, Netherlands Netherlands

One of the Netherlands' newest Pitch and Putt courses is situated close to the Biesbosch National Park (a nature conservation area and the largest fresh water tidal zone in Europe).

Leave Dordrecht (the 20th largest city in the country with a population of approx. 125,000) and take Baanhoekweg via Merwedestraat and one will quickly find Crayestein Pitch and Putt, host venue for the 2026 Dutch Open.

Nine excellent greens served by two different sets of tees make for a challenging 18-hole test of 963 metres.

Longest hole at Crayestein is the 18th which stretches to 69 metres.  The closing hole requres a precise teeshot across water and over a front bunker to a green that is further protected by a sand trap over the back. Another lengthy assignment is presented by the 65 metre 14th, on which the pitch must be threaded through trees to find a green guarded by a large sand trap on the left.

Vying to be the shortest hole on the course are the 1st, 9th and 13th which are listed on the card as 43 metres in length. Trees and bushes left and a small bunker short right are the principal hazards on No. 1. The 9th teeshot is somewhat trickier - it must fly over water and carry a larger sand trap and avoid another bunker behind the green. No. 13 may appear more straighforward but more water lurks not far over the green!

Visitors may reserve a tee time via the club's website or by phoning 078-6211221.

A full18-hole golf course lies adjacent to the Crayestein Pitch and Putt course.
