Dunshaughlin, Ireland
Dunshaughlin is a commuter town to Ireland's capital, Dublin, and its population trebled between 1991 and 2016.
Host to the 1996 All Ireland Mixed Foursomes final, Dunshaughlin Pitch and Putt course is located just 35 km. from Dublin Airport in the heartland of the Royal County of Meath.
The course opens with a relatively straightforward 30 metre pitch. No. 7 plays 67 metres uphill over a large bank. The 8th measures 57 metres and the teeshot must fly over a bunker.
Sand is the principal hazard at the uphill 59 metre 10th. The 11th calls for another ascending teeshot, this time 49 metres to a small green that falls away to the left. Trees frame the left boundary on the 45 metre 15th. The Car Park may intimidate the pitch to the 18th.
The Club was founded in 1971 and the course was laid out on land leased, and later purchased, from Michael Delaney.
Juveniles aged 10 – 15 (inclusive) and non members can play this superb course on payment of daily green fees of €2 for juveniles and €5 for adults.
