Filey, United Kingdom
Opened in 1948, this shortish layout is considered by many to be the top Pitch and Putt course in Yorkshire.
While you play you have fantastic views of Bempton Cliffs on the North Yorkshire coast.
Situated not far from Scarborough, Filey is a really imaginative 18 hole course, close to the beach.
The course is pretty flat but poses a number of challenges, not least of which is some punishing rough. 51 is the all-time course record, which is testament to the course's strength as a test.
A large tree presents a significant hazard to the pitch on the 11th.
The sloping greens on this public amenity earn the praise of many. Players may commune with nature - swallows fluttering about and Red Admiral butterflies too.
A round at this fine facility costs just £5.00. Phone the course at +44 7935 281772. There is also a nine hole footgolf course on site. The friendly and approachable staff will rent clubs and balls.
The nearby Glen Gardens Café is a pleasant post round stop and there is a large car park.
