Mill Creek, USA
Under 50 miles from downtown Chicago, Mill Creek Club is located in the gentle rolling hills of beautiful Geneva, IL.
A unique feature of the Mill Creek Golf Complex is the Pitch and Putt course. This nine-hole course has holes ranging from 45 to 75 yards. Measuring 531 yards in total, the course is a fantastic way to introduce junior players to the game, as well as a fun environment for adults to practice their short games and experience the nuances of the undulating greens found on the course.
The opening hole is Mill Creek's longest at 75 yards while shortest hole on the layout is the 45 yard third. The teeshot at the first must carry two strips of rough on either side of the fairway. Trees protect the left side and back of the green at the 3rd. The teeshot on the 59 yard 4th must carry trees and bushes while trees guard the entire left boundary of the 52 yard 6th.
The adjacent practice facility has over 58,000 square feet of bent grass teeing areas, and the practice range has five target flags from which to choose. There are multiple (three) putting greens as well as three sand traps and four chipping areas to practice the short game.
Designed by Roy Case and opened in 1996, the course on Geneva's Herrington Drive is open from 7:00am to Sunset daily. Telephone the course at 630-232-4311.
