The 2013 Dutch Open will be held at Orvelte Pitch and Putt course. Situated on wide expanse of greenery, Orvelte features a meandering stream and its tributaries that dot the course. Cattle graze contentedly nearby in the beautiful natural setting. It is to this region of Drenthe, that the 2013 Dutch Open contestants will journey in August.
Most difficult hole at Orvelte is also one of the shortest. Although the pitch at the thirteenth is just 35 metres, the green is surrounded by obstacles.
One of the longest holes on the course, the 68 metre 6th has a water hazard and a steeply sloping green. The 11th requires a blind pitch of some 34 metres over water. 17 is relatively long but straight, over a wide expanse of rough. Hole 1 is 50 metres and trees guard the left of fairway.
Out of Bounds looms at a number of the holes at Orvelte. The bowling alley and parking lot next to hole 10 is "out of bounds". The 10th is Index 15 and requires the pitch to carry a hollow. The paved road to the left of hole 11 is "out of bounds".
Brasserie 't Flinthoes restaurant adjoins Orvelte Pitch and Putt course. The course and restaurant combine to offer conferences, parties barbecues or buffets, with Pitch and Putt as part of the package. Archery is an indoor alternatives if it rains! The complex also boasts a swimming pool and childrens' playground.

By car take exit 31 from the A28. Follow the signposts to Westerbork and then follow the signs for Orvelte.
Bus 22 from the railway station in Beilen brings the public transport passenger close to Orvelte. Weekday frequency is every half hour. On weekends the buses run less frequently. In Orvelte get off at the bus stop 'Way of Witteveen' . After 50 metres turn right and the course is 250 metres away on your right.
