Wiradjuri, Wagga Wagga, Australia
Wiradjuri Pitch and Putt on Narrung Street, Wagga Wagga, Australia is home to an 18 hole Pitch and Putt course and a 15 bay driving range. Wagga Wagga is aproximately 450 kilometres from Melbourne and about 240 kilometres from Canberra.
The Wiradjuri course is very well maintained and wonderful staff (owner John King along with Dawn and Steph) make this complex great! John has owned the course for approximately 15 years and has made many enhancements during his tenure.
Wagga Wagga hosted the 2008 and 2015 Australian Opens and has regularly been the venue for New South Wales championships. Jack Kalis is one of Wagga Wagga's most promiment members.
It has many tree lined fairways and smaller than usual greens but the biggest difference for visitors is the cooch grass putting surfaces, making the use of the flat stick a big challenge.
The Wiradjuru complex lies within a 10 minute drive of Wagga Wagga's central business district and is scenically located near the Murrumbidgee river with its own car park and kiosk.
The 17th requires an accurate 63 metre tee shot, avoiding a large tree on the right of the fairway and a bunker left of a smallish green.
Typically open from 08.00 to 17.30, the course features extended trading hours in summer.
