FERNANDO MORGADO R.I.P.
Pitch and Putt world mourns
Pitch and Putt World mourns Popular Chilean Dr. Fernando Morgado (RIP)
It was with great sadness that the President and Boards of EPPA and FIPPA received the news of the death of Dr. Fernando Morgado, Santiago, Chile.
The founder of the Chilean Pitch and Putt Association, Dr. Fernando Morgado, exerted a huge influence on international Pitch and Putt since he attended his first major event - the 2001 European Team championship at Lloret Papalus, Catalonia. Fernando made tremendous efforts to establish the sport, not only in Chile, but throughout Latin America. His wise calm counsel, his humility and his humanitaniarism were of immense benefit to FIPPA, of which organisation Fernando served as an outstanding Vice President for four years.
In late 2010, Martin Whitelaw, as Secretary of FIPPA, accepted a silver plaque on Dr. Morgado's behalf at La Nit del Pitch and Putt in Barcelona. The Catalan Pitch and Putt Federation made a special presentation to Dr. Fernando Morgado in recognition of his enormous contribution to the world of Pitch and Putt. The award was richly deserved.
Deepest sympathy is extended to the family and friends of Fernando Morgado. He will be sadly missed.
