South Australian Open - Rogerson winning steak continues.

The first step to the World Cup in Holland in 2008 began last weekend for Australian players when a small but talented field teed off for the South Australian Open at Valley View.
Played over the International distance of 1200m the event was the first of three World Cup selection trials, the other two being the Australian Matchplay Championship and Australian International Open in November.

The field featured the current national rankings leaders, 3 former national champions, 4 players with international honours and saw the return from retirement of former national champion and national captain, Brendon Underwood who is ready to push his claims for national selection.

Canberra's James Rogerson contiued his blistering start to the season when he took the honours by 8 strokes over Southern Cross's Stewart Genge to cement his place at the top of the national rankings ladder and take the first leg of the World Cup trials.

Meanwhile, in the Ladies division, June Drury fought out a brave 1 stroke win over favourite Sandra Hutchison to take the title and narrow the gap on the ladies rankings leader.
