The final of the Quadrangular International on Sunday 31 July at the Ecogolf course in Ariege was contested between host country France and the holders Catalonia.  Catalonia won the singles 6-2 to emerge victorious overall by 9.5 matches to 2.5.  After early morning foursomes play, Catalonia led by 3.5 matches to 0.5.

The 3rd/4th place play-off resulted in a win for Galicia by 12 matches to nil over the Basque Country. Final classification:

1. Catalonia
2. France
3. Galicia
4. Basque Country.

Henri Nayrou Président Conseil Départemental de l' Ariége and Victor Moscatell President FIPPA led the prize presentation and were anxious to congratulate all the participants in the presence of the local political and sports authorities.

The Quadrangular International will continue next year in Galicia and in 2018 will be played in Catalonia.

The last word went to Bernard Dinnat President CPPF who recalled the slogan of the Olympics of Barcelona 92: "Amigos para siempre", "Friends Forever."

Catalonia defeated Basque Country 12-0 in their semi-final while France won a hard earned 7-5 verdict over Galicia in the other semi.  The Basques and the Galicians played off for third spot on Sunday.

Catalonia led Basque 4-0 and France were 3-1 up on Galicia at the halfway stage in semi finals. Strokeplay qualifying to set the seeding resulted as follows:

2. Galicia 263
3. France 272
4. Basque Country 343

The CPPF (France) is responsible for organizing the 2nd edition of this team competition. From July 29th to 31st, the Ecogolf course in Ariege will welcome the teams from European champions Catalonia, Galicia, Basque Country and France. Each team will consist of 8 players.

The Basque Country team will be: Iban Oregui, Javier Urdangarin, Sergio Ipiña, Jose Ipiña, Juan Ortiz, Aratz Saralegi, Jose Ramón Arando and Miguel Rodriguez

Catalonia will be represented by: Josep Martinez, Eric Puig, Jaume Vidal, Antonio Penalva, Jordi Planas, Nil Peiro, Dani Coleman and David Riera.  Catalan Team Pen Pictures

Galicia's team will be: Peter Mervin, Jorge Sarmiento, Antonio Suazo, Juan Carlos Iglesias Surribas, Nacho Prada, Jose Carlos Pena, Jose A. Carvajales, Tomas Escarda.

The team that will represent France is: Franck Ménard (Rennes), Thierry Gendreau (Fontenelles), Jean Rouch (Ariège), Laurent Duffourc (Petit Chêne), Damien Ducept (St Jean de Mont), Michel Espanol (Tls Seilh), Pierre Enault (Port Bourgenay) et Joel Vellard (La Bosse).
