Tom Rickit retains title
Tom Rickit of Canberra International won his second Australian Open in a row and a third in all at Waverley. Tom signed for 109 on Sunday to post a 72 hole aggregate of 209, that's 7 under par. Another previous winner Marc Fischer (Waverley) was runner-up on 212 while Jack Kalis (Wagga Wagga) scored 213 for third place. Jesika Clark emerged as the ladies winner on 241, one ahead of June Drury with Gloria Hourigan third on 246. Detailed scores here.
Holder Tom Rickit scored an opening round of nine under par 45. His second round was ten strokes higher but the Canberra International player held the halfway lead at the Australian Open on eight under par 100. Rickit was a single shot ahead of Jack Kalis, who fired an impresive second round 47. Former winners Marc Fischer and James Rogerson were next bext best on 106. June Drury led the ladies open on 116, two clear of Jesika Clark.
