Marcel Ahuis takes title at Oirschot as Amador and Esther claim category awards
Amador Rodriguez produced another fine round on Sunday at the 2019 Dutch Open, which was played at the Oirschot course from 24/25 August, and the Catalan's 48 provided him with a 54 hole aggregate of 145 (the best score over the weekend). This gave the World Over 55 Strokeplay champion seven strokes to spare over Jimmy O'Neill (Ireland) in the senior category. O'Neill fired 48 on Sunday to finish on 152. Sean Minogue (Ireland) was third on 163.
The leader after 36 holes, Marcel Ahuis (Netherlands), won the Gents category and was adjudged the winner of the Open on 14 under par. Declan McCarron (Netherlands) was next on 12 under par after a 50 final round just ahead of fellow countryman Jim Judge. Esther de Schiffart (Netherlands) was a runaway ladies winner on 4 under par from Hedy Timmermans and Kim Kuijsters.

Marcel Ahuis had led overnight. Marcel added a 50 to his opening 45 and was thirteen under par on 95 with the final round to play. The Dutch player held a two stroke advantage over Amador Rodriguez (Catalonia) who scored rounds of 48 and 49 on Saturday. Declan McCarron (Netherlands) was next on 101 with three Irishmen bracketed on 102 - John Minogue, Christopher Hickey and Jim Judge. Amador Rodriguez was seven clear of Jimmy O'Neill (Ireland) in the Over 55 category while Esther de Schiffart was nine ahead in ladies after successive eighteens of 53. The final round is scheduled for Sunday.

Amador Rodriguez (Catalonia) was next after firing a 48. Amador led the Over 55 tournament by three strokes from Jimmy O'Neill (Ireland). European Strokeplay champion Esther de Schiffart (Netherlands) was six clear in the ladies event after posting a 53 opener. Marcel Ahuis won Friday's Matchplay competition.
