Another victory for Rolf Kwant
Rolf Kwant won the 2021 Dutch Open, which was played at the Koekange course from August 20th-22nd. Kwant closed with a final round of 49 on Sunday to earn a two two stroke victory over Koekange clubmate Rinus Huberts who signed for a 48 on Sunday. Former winner Kwant posted a 54-hole aggregate of 21 under par 141 with Dutch international colleague Huberts second on 143. Remon de Groot (Rhoon) jumped up into third place on 48, courtesy of a fine 48 on Sunday.
Defending ladies champion Esther de Schiffart (Netherlands) saved the best for last with a final eighteen of 49 and retained the trophy with a three-round aggregate of 151. That left Esther eight clear of runner-up Herma Kleinlugtenbeld. Gillian Quanjers (Netherlands) took third place. Wichert Doppers maintained his outstanding form with a 52 on Sunday to take senior (over-55 honours) on ten under par overall, six clear of fellow Dutch player Mient Kobes. Ireland's Patrick Gaynor claimed third spot on level par.

Rolf Kwant fired a superb second round of 45 to take control of the Dutch Open at Koekange on Saturday. Kwant was 16 under par after 36 holes and took a three stroke lead into Sunday’s final round. Kwant’s closest pursuer was Dutch international colleague Rinus Huberts who posted 47+48. Another Dutch player Martijn Mengerink (Bussloo) was next on ten under par.
Esther de Schiffart carded rounds of 50 and 52 to hold a six stroke lead over Herma Kleinlugtenbeld in ladies while Wicherts Doppers (Diepenheim) was consistency personified in compiling successive eighteens of 50 for a five shot Over 55 advantage over first round leader Mient Kobes, with Ireland’s Patrick Gaynor just another shot back.

Dutch international players Rolf Kwant and Rinus Huberts shared the first round lead after the opening round at Koekange. The home club players both posted seven under par rounds of 47, which was good enough for a single stroke advantage over another Dutch player, Lars Frazer (Papendal). Leeuwarden’s Mient Kobes led the over 55 event on 49 while ladies leader was multiple past winner Esther de Schiffart
