Wiliam Fitzgerald wins play-off. Harkins top senior as Tara Dillon wins ladies

The IX Irish Open was played at the Ryston course in Newbridge, Co. Kildare on 20th/21st July 2024.

William Fitzgerald of the host club Ryston fired a fabulous final round 43 to tie on 24 under par 138 with Dave Sexton and Kieran Earls, both of Ireland. Fitzgerald won the 3-hole play-off to claim the prestigious title. Earls took second with Sexton third. Early overall leader Sean Harkins (Ireland) held on well with a Sunday 53 to earn senior laurels on 17 under par 145, two clear of fellow Irishman Chris Scannell with defending champion Anthony Galvin third. Tara Dillon (Ireland) was an impressive wire to wire ladies winner adding a final round of for a 151 aggregate, two better than Holder Eleanor Walsh who scored a superb 48 on Sunday to finish second. Ireland's Breda White was third.

Liam Malone (Great Britain) was best non-Irish player while Ireand's Eoin Shannon claimed the Best Final 18 prize

2024 Catalan Open winner Ian Dillon (Ireland) led after 36 holes. Rounds of 47 and 43 saw Dillon two ahead overnight of five compatriots Sean Harkins, David Sexton, Bryan Delaney, John Cahill and Thomas Hanley. Ireland's Tara Dillon led the ladies by two from fellow Irish player Chrissie Byrne with holder Eleanor Walsh of Ireland another two back in third. Sean Harkins was  best senior at that stage by three from Chris Scannell (Ireland) and by five from holder Anthony Galvin (Ireland).
