Hall of Fame Award for Michael Murphy

FIPPA President honoured at Pitch & Putt Ireland Convention

FIPPA President Michael Murphy (Ireland) was presented with Pitch and Putt Ireland's Hall of Fame at the organisation's 2025 Convention. The event was held at the Templemore Arms Hotel in Co. Tipperary on 22nd February. The citation read:

  • For an unflinching dedication to Pitch and Putt’s cause during a momentous two-decade tenure as National Secretary
  • For delivering outstanding Club administrative service as President, Chairman, Treasurer and Gents Captain
  • For a central involvement with a core group that saved a club from extinction in a landmark High Court case regarding tenancy.
  • For an outstanding term as international team Manager, sharing in memorable European Team Championship and World Cup wins
  • For acting as an empathetic Special Olympics coordinator for Pitch and Putt
  • For a proficient playing career that brought County Matchplay, Club championship and Captain’s Prize successes
  • For being an acknowledged technophile, and producing a huge volume of material every year as Office Administrator
  • For embracing the most recent role of FIPPA President with zeal and enthusiasm
  • The Pitch and Putt Ireland Hall of Fame award is presented to Michael Murphy.

Former FIPPA President Mervyn Cooney was confirmed a Patron of Pitch and Putt Ireland at the same meeting.
