WPPT Ireland Master

John Walsh retains his title

The 2025 WPPT Ireland  Master was played at Tullamore from 7th/9th November.

John Walsh fired a fabulous 44 on Sunday to score 135 overall and win for the second successive year. Walsh won by five from fellow Irishman Anthony Galvin who closed with a Sunday 48. Former Irish Matchplay champion Stephen O'Reilly took third place with -20 while Ireland's Dinny Hill was best over 55 performer. Stylish local player Amy Galvin delivered an impressive performance to scoop ladies laurels on 152 as another local player Martin Ward lifted best intermediate.

Overnight John Walsh's (Ireland) bid to retain his title was on track. The 2024 winner (at McDonagh) scored 17 under par 91 on Saturday to lead by a single stroke from local member Anthony Galvin (who won the 2022 Irish Senior Open over this course). Bryan Delaney was next on 94 alongside fellow Irishman Dean Grannell. Dinny Hill and Eoin Walsh joined Friday leader George McGreal on -13. The final round was played on Sunday morning. Tee times

Ireland's George McGreal fired eighteens of 50 and 45 to lead after Friday on 13 under par 95. The Dubliner held a one stroke lead from former Irish intermediate Strokeplay champion Declan McCarron. Three players sat on -11, Frank Dineen (who won the 2008 Irish Strokeplay title at Tullamore) and two local players, Martin Ward and Michael Connolly.
