Alejandro Moraga RIP

An appreciation

Alejandro Moraga RIP
With a very heavy heart, we inform of the passing of Mr. Alejandro Moraga of Chile.

Alejandro was one of the oldest players of the Chilean Pitch & Putt Federation (FECHIPP), a most enthusiastic and even better human being, yet very demure in nature. A modest man, with a huge, kind heart.

He was known to many as the greenkeeper of the Pitch and Putt course in the Club Médico in Santiago, a position that was always more to him than just a job. His meticulous care and insightful approach went well beyond the call of duty, where he always pursued providing fellow players with the best course conditions possible.

A most gifted player, he participated enthusiastically in both individual and team competitions and was a frequent visitor of the winner’s podium. His participation in the South American team that played the 2018 Ryder Cup in Puerto Velero, Chile proved
legendary, both for his skills on the course, his strong team spirit and his cordial approach to international players.

Pitch and Putt may have been Alejandro´s game, but his true legacy is one of connection, one of love. The ultimate embodiment of the spirit of Pitch and Putt. Each of us carries a memory of a round played together, of his words of encouragement given freely, of lessons taught without pretense. Those memories are the real trophies, ones that will stand over the course of time.

The fairways and greens will be quieter, yet we will always feel your presence, your friendship and the spirit of play that you embodied. Rest well, dear Alejandro.
