2025 Catalan International Pairs

Win for O'Donovan and Hanley

The 2025 Catalan International Pairs was played at Sant Cebria on 17/19 October. Liam O'Donovan holed a lengthy putt across the first extra green to claim victory for himself and fellow Irishman Tommy Hanley. O'Donovan and Hanley scored 43 in Sunday's Fourball round to tie on 265 under par 136 with fellow Irish players and holders Evan Carry and Gareth Walsh who posted a final 44 round 44. Two pairs finished on 137, Frank Dineen & Eoin Walsh (Ireland) and overnight leaders Xavier Serral and Jan Bofill (Catalonia). With 20 under par 142, Marta Cucurull and Lluis Cucurull (Catalonia) were eight stroke Mixed winners over David and Ailish Sexton (Ireland). Final scores here

On Saturday, Catalans Xavier Serral and Jan Bofill signed for 45 in Greensomes and a brilliant 46 in Foursomes to lead by one on 17 under par 91. Serral and Bofill took that one stroke advantage into Sunday's final round over the holders Gareth Walsh and Evan Carry of Ireland.

Approximately one third of the field played their opening 36 holes (one Greensomes round and one Foursomes round) on Friday afternoon. Josep Iglesias and Marc Fortuny (Catalonia) scored 46 in Greensomes and 47 in Foursomes to finish tied with Irishmen Tommy Hanley and Liam O'Donovan (43+50). Another Irish pair matched this score on Saturday - Eoin Walsh and Frank Dineen (42+51).

Best Mixed Pair then were Marta Cucurull and Lluis Cucurull (Catalonia) on 97. That was five clear of Irish pair David and Ailish Sexton.
