FIRST-EVER IPPA-APPROVED PITCH AND PUTT TOURNAMENT, PAR 3 MASTERS, CONCLUDES SUCCESSFULLY AT SEPDTA, CHANDIMANDIR CANTT

Chandimandir, Haryana: The inaugural Par 3 Masters Pitch and Putt Tournament concluded successfully at SEPDTA, Chandimandir Cantt, marking an important milestone in the development and promotion of Pitch and Putt golf in India.
Curated by Can and Able Entertainment, the tournament introduced the innovative and accessible Par 3 format at the army facility, bringing together serving Army officers, veterans and golf enthusiasts for a unique competitive experience.

The tournament witnessed participation from nearly 80 serving and retired Army officers and veterans, including retired Generals of the Indian Army, making it one of the most distinguished Pitch and Putt events hosted in the country. Overall, 100 golfers competed across the scenic 18-hole course.

Played in the distinctive Par 3 format, participants were permitted to use only three clubs, including a putter, with holes ranging from 50 to 100 yards. The format placed a premium on precision, strategy and shot-making ability while making the game more engaging and accessible to golfers across different levels of experience.

The event also marked the formal introduction of the Indian Pitch and Putt Association (IPPA), recognized by the Federation of International Pitch and Putt Association (FIPPA). IPPA Chief Patron Puneet Singh and Founder President Munish Arora highlighted the growing appeal of Pitch and Putt and its potential to make golf more inclusive and accessible,
particularly at the grassroots level.

Tournament Winners
In the Men's category, Col. B.S. Grewal emerged as the champion, with Satish Singla finishing as runner-up. The winners were presented their awards by Lt. Gen. H. S. Sahi, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, YSM, SM, who is the President of the course.
In the Women' s category, Gurpreet Deo claimed the title, while Madhur Preet Sonia finished first runner-up and Akanksha secured second runner-up. The women's awards were presented by Mrs. Reet Sahi, RVPA, Western Command. Satish Singla also claimed the Nearest to the Pin prize.

Speaking on the occasion, Puneet Singh, Chief Patron, Indian Pitch and Putt Association, described the tournament as a significant step towards establishing Pitch and Putt as an accessible and engaging form of golf in India. He emphasized its potential to encourage greater participation among new and young golfers and to help take the sport to a wider audience across the country.

Munish Arora, Founder President of IPPA and promoter of the Par 3 Masters, expressed his satisfaction at seeing golfers from diverse backgrounds embrace the new format and highlighted the growing momentum for Pitch and Putt in India.
“The vision behind the Par 3 Masters was not limited to competitive golf. It was about creating a platform that makes the game more accessible, inclusive and enjoyable for a wider audience. The response to this inaugural tournament in army facility has been extremely encouraging. With India set to host the India International Pitch and Putt Open in November this year, we are entering an exciting new chapter for the sport. This international event will provide an important platform for Indian players and further strengthen India's position on the global Pitch and Putt map.”

The tournament also combined sport with culture and entertainment. The evening concluded with a vibrant Sufi qawwali performance from Punjab, adding a distinctive cultural dimension to the celebrations, which were attended by members of tricity's social and sporting circles.

Former professional golfer and trainer Tavleen Batra officiated as tournament referee and oversaw the competition to ensure fair play throughout the event. The Par 3 Masters was organized by Can and Able Entertainment, with support from partners Medallion Avenue, CSC Sound and Mantrin.

The successful conclusion of the inaugural tournament is expected to provide further momentum to the development of Pitch and Putt in India and contribute to creating a stronger pathway for wider participation, grassroots engagement and future international events.
