Win for Roger and Alexandre Albiñana

The V Andorra International Pairs tournament was played at Xixerella from June 11th/12th. The domination of Roger and Alexandra Albiñana continued into Sunday's final round. Roger and Alexandre scored 46 in the Chapman Greensomes format to end eight stroke winners on 27 under par 135 for the 54 holes. Fellow Catalans Xavi Ponsdemenech and Daniel Gimenez posted 45 on Sunday to take runners-up spot on 143. That was a further three strokes ahead of Sergi Arisa and Rafael Ramos (Catalonia) and best home pairing Carlos Perez and Pablo Perez. Toni Armengol and Josep Escabros (Andorra) took fifth place on 148, marginally ahead of Galicians Teodoro Fernandez and Antonio Sanchez, Begona Conde and Alberto Alacaraz (Catalonia) were the Best Mixed pairing with 164. Roger Albinana and Alexandre Albiñana (Catalonia) led into Sunday's final round of Chapman Greensomes. The Catalan duo posted 46 in Saturday afternnon's Foursomes for a 36 hole aggregate of 89 (-19). That was good enough for a three stroke overnight advantage over Carles Perez and Pablo Perez (Andorra) who fired 45 in the Fourball. Jordi Salvat and Oscar Martinez (Catalonia) were in third place on 13 under par while there wre two pairs on 96 - Sergi Arisa and Rafael Ramos (Catalonia) along with Teodoro Fernandez and Antonio Sanchez (Galicia)

Roger Albinana and Alexandre Albinana carded a superb eleven under par in the Greensomes to take the lead after the opening round. The Catalans led by three strokes from Jordi Salvat and Oscar Martinez (Catalonia). Toni Armengol and Josep Escabros (Andorra) were next 47 alongside fellow Andorrans Carles Perez and Pablo Perez. Some format changes were decided. The Greensome was played on Saturday morning, Fourball replaced Foursome on Saturday afternoon and Chapman Greensome was played on Sunday.
