Gonzalo Mendoza and Hugo Fernandez win by one

The 2023 Andorra International Open Pairs was played over the Ordino and Xixerella courses on 17th/18th June.

Gonzalo Mendoza of Andorra won for the fourth time with a third different partner as he and Hugo Fernandez triumphed by a single stroke. Mendoza and Fernandez posted 50 for Sunday Chapman Greensomes which gave the Andorrans a 54-hole winning aggregate of 21 under par 141 and left Carlos Martin and Albert Moreno (Catalonia) second on 142 after a final round of 47. Xavi Ponsdemenech and Daniel Gimenez (Catalonia) placed third on 19 under par with Teodoro Fernandez and Antonio Sanchez (Galicia) fourth on -18. Maria Martinez and Purificacio Montana (Catalonia) were facile ladies winners on 167 while Best Mixed pair were Teodoro Ferrero and Amparo Francisco (Catalonia).on -18, just ahead, on the countback, of fellow Catalans Emma Sorribas and Joan Manel Crespo.

Andorrans Gonzalo Mendoza and Hugo Fernandez took a three stroke lead into Sunday's final round of Chapman Greesomes. A brilliant Greensomes round of 45 alomg with a 46 in Fourball saw Mendoza and Fernandez on 17 under par 91 overnight. Xavi Ponsdemenech and Daniel Gimenez (Catalonia) posted 50 in Greensomes but were round in 44 for the fourball to lie second on 94. Carlos Martin and Albert Moreno were next on -13, the same score as Teodoro Fernandez and Antonio Sanchez (Galicia).
