2026 Swiss Pitch & Putt Championship – Titles for Janik Gattlen and Beatrice Joder
Thun, 23 August 2026 – Last Sunday, the 2026 Swiss Pitch & Putt Championship was held at the Pitch & Putt course in Thun.
The field was made up of strong players – an encouraging sign for the continued development of pitch & putt as a sport in Switzerland.
In the men's competition, Janik Gattlen (Pitch&Putt Uri) once again secured the Swiss championship title with a total score of 98 strokes (rounds 47/51). For Janik Gattlen, this is his third championship title, following his victories in 2021,2025 and 2026. He won silver in 2022, 2023 and 2024, and bronze in 2016. Rafael Hodler (Pitch&Putt Thun) finished second, winning his first medal at a Swiss Championship. Giovanni Volentik secured third place, just as he did in 2025.
In the women's competition, Beatrice Joder (Pitch&Putt Thun) celebrated her first podium finish with rounds of 54 and 52, securing the Swiss championship title. Edith Zaugg (Pitch&Putt Thun) finished second. Gabriela Gyr (Pitch&Putt Affoltern) completed the podium in third place – her second consecutive podium finish after winning gold in 2025.
The championship was characterised by exciting duels, fair competition and enthusiastic support from the audience. The high number of participants and strong performances show that pitch & putt continues to grow in popularity in Switzerland.
