Chile Open 2016

Alejandro Moraga wins....

The FChPP Chile hosted the 2016 International Chile Open from Thursday 17th to Sunday 20th November in Santiago.  Host venue was the Colegio di Medico course.

A superb last round of 51 saw Alejandro Moraga (Chile) win the Chile Open. A member of the host club, Alejandro trailed by six overnight but his 171 total was good enough for a two stroke winning margin.  Guillermo Arancibia (Chile) scored a 59 on Sunday to finish with an aggregate of 173 for 54 holes. Guillermo, who led overnight, finished three strokes ahead of first round leader Jaime Reyes who also shot 59 in the final round. Margarita Valenzuela  won the ladies on 190.  Maria Angelica Silva was second with Maria Teresa Cancino third. Full list of scores here

Guillermo Arancibia (Chile) led the event into Sunday's final round.  Two consistent rounds of 57 left Guillermo on 114 and two shots clear of nearest rival Gustavo Cortez who added a 57 to his opening 59.  Juan Moran who won the Chilean Bicentennial tournament six years ago was poised on 117 alongside Jaime Reyes who led with a first round 56. Max Valenzuela was on 118.

Early leader was Jaime Reyes (Chile) who carded a first round 56.  Jaime was just a single stroke ahead of a group of three players - Pablo Caviedes, Guillermo Arancibia and Max Venzuela.  Juan Moran was next on 58.
