Argentina overcome Saturday deficit to defeat Chile

The 2018 edition of the Friendship Cup between Argentina and Chile was contested in Buenos Aires on the weekend of 13th/14th October. Two courses were used - Las Lajas and Banco de la Provincia. View the full results here. View a video of the weekend here

Argentina may have trailed by a dozen strokes at the halfway stage but superb play on Sunday at Banco Provincia enabled the Argentinians take a 2-1 series lead by virtue of their four stroke overall win, 467 to 471. A fourth encounter will be held in Chile during 2019.

After 18 holes on Saturday at Las Lajas, Chile held a twelve stroke advantage heading into Sunday's second round at Banco Provincia. Chile totalled 517 for their eight best gross scores at Las Lajas, to 529 for their hosts. Brazilian guest player Fabiano Chaves of Brazil (in advance of the inaugural Brazilian Open next spring) aced the opening hole!
