Ourense International Pairs

Rodriguez and Sanchez score 138 to win

Pablo Rodriguez and David Sanchez scored 43 (with an opening nine of 19!) in the Sunday Chapman Greensomes to win the first Ourense International Pairs tournament with an overall three-round aggregate of 138. That was four strokes better (over the Ourense and Pozo do Lago courses in Galicia from October 2/3) than fellow Galicians Nacho Prada and Jose Antonio Carvajales who conjured up a superb Sunday 42 (which included nine birdies in a row from the 6th). Esteban Rodriguez and Moises Iriarte (Galicia) scored 48 on Sunday to fill third position on 17 under par for the 54 holes. Tomas Escarda and Daniel Fuentes were next on 146 after a thrilling Greensomes 44 while Jorge Rodriguez and Juan Carlos Iglesias finished fifth on 147. Miguel Llado & Maria Julia (Catalonia) carded a fine 51 in the Greensomes to take Best Mixed laurels by one stroke from compatriots Pilar Montero & Alan Torner with Matilde and José Lopez (Galicia) another shot away in third.
Final Leaderboard

Another Galician pair Nacho Prada and José Antonio Carvajales were third on 100 after their fine 45 at Ourense.  Matilde and José Lopez (Galicia) topped the mixed leaderboard on 111.
