Rudolf Leban triumphs at Stanezice
The V Slovenia Open was contested at the Stanežiče course in Ljubjlana on September 4/5, 2021. Slovenia's Rudolf Leban was a wire-to-wire winber. Rudolf carded a third round of 57 for a 54-hole aggregate of 166. That earned a one stroke victory over fellow Slovenian Matjaz Slak, who was round in 56 on Sunday. Miha Cizman (Slovenia) placed third (for the second successive year) with a 173 total. 2019 ladies winner Herma Kleinlugtenbeld (Netherlands) regained the ladies title on 178, three better than Sasa Leban (Slovenia). Slovenian Milica Koresec captured third prize for the second year-in-a-row.

Rudolf Leban added a 54 to his opening 55 and took a two stroke overnight lead into the final round. Rudolf was on one over par 109 after 36 holes. Fellow countryman Matjaz Slak was in second place, having returned a scintillating second eighteen of 51. Tomaz Kolesa (Slovenia) was next on 114. Herma Kleinlugtenbeld (Netherlands) led the Ladies Open on 119, which was five clear of Sasa Leban (Slovenia)

A first round of 55 saw Rudolf Leban hold a one stroke lead from holder Yann Le Tallec (France), who fired an opening score of 56. Gerard Spaargaren (Netherlands) lay third on 58 alongside Tomaz Kolesa (Slovenia). Herma Kleinlugtenbeld (Netherlands) was the first round ladies leader on 58, which was three shots better than Sasa Leban (Slovenia).
