  Australian Open Ladies Winners

Liz Quinn of Ireland (the 2007 champion) remains the only non Australian winner of the Australian Open but six Australians have racked-up multiple podium finshes in the eleven year history of the event.

Helen Angel (Canberra International) leads the way with 3 wins and one third place. Helen delivered her first win via the play-off route in 2012, after tieing on 221 with clubmate Sandra Hutchison. Helen retained her title at Canberra International the following year with a 72 hole aggregate of 224. After finishing third at Waverley in 2014, Helen clinched her third victory on 222 when the Open returned to Canberra in 2016.

Julie Richardson (Waverley) bounced into prominence at the 2010 Australian Open, securing a nine stroke victory with her 219 tally (58+50+55+56) at Canberra. Julie dominated the 2014 Open over her home course, winning by twelve shots on 234. Seeking to retain the trophy at Wagga Wagga the following year, Julie led after 36 holes only to be overhauled on Sunday by Elaine Scott and Marian Kalis.

2009 Australian Open champion June Drury (Canberra International) has accumulated four podium finishes in the event - that 2009 win, two seconds and a third. Victorious in the intense Adelaide heat of 2009, June scored 225 to finish four strokes out of the Angel/Hutchison 2012 play-off in third place. June has been the 36 hole leader in each of the past two Australian Opens only to be overtaken on the last day on each occasion. June was runner-up by two shots in 2016 while she finished just a stroke behind Jesika Clark in November.

Marie Hutchison has one win and one third to her credit. The win came at the rain-shortened 54 hole Australian Open at Waverley in 2011 where a three round 182 did the trick. Five years later, Marie scored 233 to come in third at her home course C,anberra International, behind Helen Angel and June Drury.

Depending on one's viewpoint Gloria Hourigan has been very consistent or very unlucky or both at the Australian Open. The Waverley player has recorded three second place finishes and has also been third on three occasions. Gloria's love/hate relationship with the championship began at Wagga Wagga in 2008 when he shot 237 for third place. She was third again at Waverley three years later, just one off the winning score, beaten on the tiebreaker for second spot. It was bronze again in 2017, five shots behind winner Jesika Clark.

Gloria was runner-up three times in five years from 2010, including successive heartbreaks in 2013 and in 2014. Gloria carded 235 in 2013 to finish well behind Helen Angel and was again second to Julie Richardson the following year.

Sandra Hutchison has notched two runners-up performances and a third place finish. Her sudden death loss to Helen Angel in 2012 came a year after Sandra ended up just a shot behind her mother Marie at Waverley in 2011.

Liz Quinn's 207 at Canberra in 2007 remains by some distance the lowest 72 hole aggregate in Australian Ladies Open history.
