Patricio Rubel, FIPPA President's envoy in South America confirmed the disappointing, but not unexpected, news that the World Cup will have to be deferred for a year. Patricio, who is working so hard to develop Pitch and Putt in South America, is still determined that the VI World Cup will be staged in Chile.

 

PR. We are at this moment reaching the abyss ... we suppose and even the system has not been overwhelmed, only as a result of the fact that since January to date the number of critical beds has more than tripled and both ambulances and helicopters have been prepared and Airplanes specially equipped for the transfer of patients from one hospital to another and to the provinces that have space.

In the provinces, which is where our pandemic started, quarantines resulted and many are almost out of contagion or at least very manageable.

The problem is in the Metropolitan Region (Greater Santiago, approximately 7,000,000 inhabitants) where there are overcrowded conditions in several communes and in these, despite the quarantine, the flow of people does not drop enough to break the Covid chain. We must consider that Chileans have been rated by international organizations as lousy adherents to health standards, surpassed only by Africa.

Even so, we are doing around 20,000 tests a day and then we will reach a million, and with a policy of separating new cases to healthcare residences in very good hotels .... all your needs are covered for free.

PR. We have constantly analyzed and adjusted our predictions, with the multiple changes in the data on the Epidemic, considering, country openings, flight possibilities ... etc.

We concluded that the feasible date for the World Cup in Chile is November 2021 and we have made it known to FIPPA, and this change has been approved.

                  

PR. All of South America is more or less in the same situation. We are in contact, there is much nostalgia for contact and we miss each other and you can perceive it through the photos and comments that circulate.

 

PR. Many ask us .... what will happen to the World Cup ...... the Brazilian and Argentina Open ....... our national championships?

My conclusion is that for there to be a new normal, we will have to wait ... for remedies and definitely for the vaccine.

In Pitch and Putt, we also have a large number of high-risk players.

Regardless of the above, in Chile we are seeking that the starting blocks are already being cut "CHILENISMO". This expression is used to refer to someone who is very eager to do something.

 

 

Estamos en este momento llegando a la sima ....suponemos y aun el sistema no ha sido desbordado, solo a raíz de que desde Enero a la fecha se ha más que triplicado la cantidad de camas críticas y hay preparadas tanto ambulancias como helicópteros y aviones especialmente acondicionados para el traslado de enfermos desde un hospital a otro y hacia las provincias que tienen cupo.

En las provincias, que es donde empezó nuestra pandemia, resultaron las cuarentenas y muchas está casi fuera del contagio o por lo menos muy manejable.

El problema es en la Región Metropolitana ( el Gran Santiago aprox 7.000.000 de habitantes ) donde hay condiciones de hacinamiento en varias comunas y en estas a pesar de la cuarentena, el flujo de gente no baja lo suficiente para romper la cadena del Covid.

Hay que considerar que los Chilenos hemos sido calificados por organismos internacionales, como pésimos cumplidores de las normas de salud, superados solo por Africa.

Aun así estamos haciendo alrededor de 20.000 test diarios y luego llegaremos a un millón, y con una política de separar casos nuevos a residencias sanitarias en muy buenos hoteles....cubiertas gratuitamente todas sus necesidades.

¿Cómo ha afectado la pandemia a sus planes para la Copa Mundial 2020? ¿Qué opciones hay disponibles con respecto a la Copa del Mundo?

Hemos analizado constantemente y ajustado nuestras predicciones, con los múltiples cambios  en los datos  sobre             la Epidemia, considerando, aperturas de los países, posibilidades de vuelos...etc.

 Llegamos a la conclusión de que la fecha factible para la Copa del Mundo en Chile es noviembre de 2021 y se lo hemos comunicado a FIPPA, y este cambio ha sido aprobado.. 

¿Cómo está progresando Pitch and Putt en Ecuador, Argentina, Brasil, México?

Toda Sud América está más o menos en la misma situación, estamos en contacto, hay mucha nostalgia añoranza y              nos extrañamos   y tu lo puedes percibir a través de las fotos y comentarios que circulan.

¿Qué depara el futuro?

Muchos nos preguntan ....que pasara con el mundial......los abiertos de Brasil y Argentina.......nuestro campeonato nacional ?

Mi conclusión es que para que exista una nueva normalidad, tendremos que esperar....remedios y definitivamente la vacuna.

En el PITCH&PUTT tenemos además una gran cantidad de jugadores de alto riesgo.

Independiente de lo anterior en Chile estamos .... que ya se cortan las huinchas "CHILENISMO. Esta expresión se utiliza para referirse a alguien que tiene muchísimas ganas de hacer algo."
