Manuel Amor - Proud Co-Captain in Chile (English and Spanish)

We were delighted to secure an interview with Manuel Amor from the Castell Godmar Pitch and Putt course in Badalona. Manuel was selected (with Ireland's Mark Millar) as co-captain of Team Europe for the Fernando Morgado Trophy match in Chile against South America.

English version

Q. How honoured were you to be named captain of Europe?

A. It was an appointment that I did not expect and that made me very excited. It has been an honour and I am very proud to have been elected co-captain.

Q. Was it easy to engender a good team spirit in Team Europe?

A. The truth is that if I had to highlight something of the European team, it would be the good atmosphere and the camaraderie from the very first minute. One of the most important things that I take away from this experience are ten friends!

Q. What were your impressions of the Puerto Velero course?

A. The Puerto Velero course is undoubtedly one of the most difficult that I have ever played. The greens have a lot of movement and the wind that exists in that area, starting at noon, complicates it even more if that's possible. The Puerto Velero course is a challenge from the beginning to the end.

Q. Do you think Pitch and Putt is developing well in South America?

A. From the Chilean Federation to FIPPA, I think they are doing a great job, which will undoubtedly pay off in the coming years.

Q. You won all your matches in the Fernando Morgado trophy. You must have played very well?

A. Yes, I won all my matches. The most difficult was the foursome that I played with David Solé, which we won on the 18th hole. Yes, I played very well in every match.

Q. What are your plans for the remainder of the Pitch and Putt season?

A. This season I will try to qualify for the Catalan Open 2018 (he finished fifth) and I will focus on the trials of the Catalan Team for the European  that takes place in June. I would like to be part of that team.
