¿Alguna vez estuvo en duda el resultado?

Claro que tuve dudas porque en el hoyo 15 perdía de 1 golpe, pero Fernando Cano, que iba ganando, hizo un doble bogey en el 15. Pienso que ahí se puso un poco nervioso y yo me tranquilizé más y en el 17 y 18 hice birdie y pude quedar campeón Senior.

¿Cuáles fueron los aspectos más fuertes de tu juego durante el torneo?

Jugué tranquilo y con mucha seguridad y también influye la suerte.

Tienes un récord increíble en el Open de Catalunya, ganando el senior o el Absolut todos los años desde 2017. ¿Cuánto tiempo crees que podrás mantener este impresionante récord?

Eso es difícil de decir. De momento entreno mucho, que es lo que más me gusta, tiro muchas bolas y practico el chip y el putt bastante. El futuro? eso se verá.

¿Crees que la categoría sénior es cada vez más competitiva ahora que jugadores como Fernando Cano se han incorporado a las categorías superiores?

La categoría Senior cada vez está más difícil. Pienso que hay tres o cuatro Pro que lo juegan todo y te lo ponen muy difícil y ahora con Fernando aún más. Pero me llevo muy bien con ellos y eso hace que los torneos sean más interesantes.

No jugaste en el evento WPPT de Lleida. ¿Cuál es tu opinión de ese circuito?

Creo que el evento WPPT es muy interesante y atrae a muy buenos jugadores pero el problema para los que tenemos un sueldo es Hacienda.Si pasamos de 1.500€ hay que pagar una barbaridad. Y para Hacienda ganas 500€ que es el premio del Senior pero tu has ganado muy poco pues entre habitación y comida te gastas 250€, más 100€ de inscripción y luego la gasolina. Y jugar para que se lo lleve todo Hacienda...paso!

¿Estás entrenando tan diligentemente como siempre?

 Sí sí, entreno bastante aunque ahora tengo que operarme de las varices y la rodilla, que tengo operada, me está dando problemas, así que ya veremos

¿En qué torneos vas a participar  en el resto de la temporada?

El resto de la temporada jugaré todo lo que pueda aunque por la operación y la rodilla tendré que bajar un poco el ritmo

Alguna vegada va estar en dubte el resultat?

És clar que vaig tenir dubtes perquè al forat 15 perdia d'1 cop, però Fernando Cano, que anava guanyant, va fer un doble bogey al 15. Penso que allà es va posar una mica nerviós i jo em vaig tranquil·litzar més i al 17 i 18 vaig fer birdie i vaig poder quedar campió Senior.

Quins van ser els aspectes més forts del teu joc durant el torneig?

Vaig jugar tranquil i amb molta seguretat i també hi influeix la sort.

Tens un rècord increïble a l'Open de Catalunya, guanyant el sènior o l'Absolut cada any des del 2017. Quant de temps creus que podràs mantenir aquest impressionant rècord?

Això és difícil de dir. De moment entreno molt, que és el que més m'agrada, llenço moltes boles i practico el xip i el putt força. El futur? això es veurà.

Creus que la categoria sènior és cada cop més competitiva ara que jugadors com Fernando Cano s'han incorporat a les categories superiors?

La categoria Sènior cada cop està més difícil. Penso que n'hi ha tres o quatre Pro que ho juguen tot i t'ho posen molt difícil i ara amb Fernando encara més. Però m'hi porto molt bé i això fa que els tornejos siguin més interessants.

No vas jugar a l'esdeveniment WPPT de Lleida. Quina és la teva opinió del circuit?

Crec que l'esdeveniment WPPT és molt interessant i atrau molt bons jugadors però el problema per als que tenim un sou és Hisenda. Si passem de 1.500€ cal pagar una barbaritat. I per a Hisenda guanyes 500€ que és el premi del Sènior però tu has guanyat molt poc ja que entre habitació i menjar et gastes 250€, més 100€ d'inscripció i després la benzina. I jugar perquè s'ho emporti tot Hisenda... passo!

Estàs entrenant tan diligentment com sempre?

Sí sí, entreno força encara que ara he d'operar-me de les varius i el genoll, que tinc operat, m'està donant problemes, així que ja veurem

En quins tornejos participaràs a la resta de la temporada?

La resta de la temporada jugaré tant com pugui encara que per l'operació i el genoll hauré de baixar una mica el ritme.

Congratulations on your win in the Catalan Senior Open. Was the outcome ever in doubt?

Of course I had doubts because on the 15th hole I was one behind, but Fernando Cano, who was leading, hit a double bogey on the 15th. I think he got a little nervous there and I calmed down more and on the 17th and 18th I birdie and I could be Senior champion.

What were the strongest aspects of your game during the tournament?

I played calmly and very confidently and luck also plays a role.

You have an incredible record in the Catalan Open, winning the senior or Absolut every year since 2017. For how long do you think you can maintain this impressive record?

That's hard to say. At the moment I practice a lot, which is what I like the most, I shoot a lot of balls and I practice chipping and putting a lot. The future? that will be seen

Do you find that the senior category is getting even more competitive now that players like Fernando Cano have joined the senior ranks?

The Senior category is getting more and more difficult. I think there are three or four Pros who play everything and make it very difficult for you and now with Fernando even more. But I get along very well with them and that makes the tournaments more interesting.

You did not play in the WPPT event at Lleida. What is your opinion of that tour?

I think the WPPT event is very interesting and attracts very good players, but the problem for those of us who have a salary is the Treasury (taxes). If we go over €1,500, we have to pay a lot. And for the Treasury you earn €500, which is the Senior prize, but you have earned very little because between room and board you spend €250, plus €100 for registration and then gasoline. And play for the Treasury  (taxes) to take it all... I don’t do it!

Are you practicing as diligently as ever?

Yes yes, I practice a lot although now I have to have varicose vein surgery and the knee, which I have operated on, is giving me problems, so we'll see

What tournaments are you targeting for the remainder of the season?

The rest of the season I will play as much as I can, although due to the operation and the knee I will have to slow down a bit
